Some of our elected officials seem to discount the huge impact the Gaithersburg West Master Plan
will have on the well-being of our communities and the environment by bringing unprecedented
levels of traffic, while asking the taxpayers to foot the bill for billions of dollars of infrastructure to
enable Johns Hopkins' commercial real estate speculation.
We urge the residents of Montgomery County to choose our representatives based on their
support for the citizens and the environment rather than the financial enrichment of the developers
and landowners.
The final vote on the master plan was disappointing but expected. The election in the fall will give
us a chance to elect county officials who hear our concerns and will work with the community.
