On March 18, 2021, a Pre-Submittal meeting was held with members of the community, officials from Johns Hopkins, architects, a construction manager and the Attorney for Johns Hopkins in attendance.  The purpose of the meeting was to show the community the plans for the Medical building and Surgery Center that Hopkins intends to build on the south-east corner of Belward Farm, and answer their questions.

In the past, meetings between Johns Hopkins and the community were tense and adversarial.  This meeting had a different tone and was very informative.  All of the questions from the community were answered.

The Medical building and Surgery Center will be on 12.5 acres to the right of the historic farmstead. It will be 126,200 sq ft and 110 feet tall.  The architect oriented the building so the historic farmstead could be seen through an open space between the two buildings that are joined at the center.  The buildings will be LEED certified and will have green roofs.

Update to the 29 Request for Proposals (RFP)  sent out a few years ago by Johns Hopkins to find a developer to take charge of maxing out the  development of the farm.  It was reported on March 18, 2021 that there were no developers who met Hopkins' requirements.
